Welcome to the St. Patrick's Day Tournament at FFC Park !

Returning for it's second year this premier tournament event will be played over the St. Patrick's Day holiday weekend. This event will be focused on U9-15 Boys and Girls Competitive Age Groups.  This will ensure that great competition in a format that will allow teams to play all Games at FFC Park, which will avoid multiple site scheduling and conflicts that occur with general multi-location events.

FFC Park is one of best soccer specific Facilities on the East Coast, featuring 7 Full-Sided or 14 Small-Sided Professional Grade Grass Fields.  In recent years, FFC Park has attracted some of the most prestigious Events on the East Coast including USYSA Region 1 Championships, WAGS Showcase, USYSA Eastern Regional League, APC Showcase and Club Champions League (CCL) Events & ScrimmageFests.

Fredericksburg FC owns and operates FFC Park which was constructed in 2014 through a joint venture with Spotsylvania County & Virginia Youth Soccer Association who also own and operate up to 8 additional Soccer Fields neighboring FFC Park.  Sole ownerships allows FFC to maintain a Professional Level playing surface year-round through all weather conditions.

Fredericksburg FC is a full travel club boasting teams in All Groups including Men's & Women's Teams, which was established in 1986.  The Travel Teams compete in one of the top leagues on the East Coast, featuring all the major clubs between Virginia, Maryland & DC.   The Club Champions League (CCL) features 2 tiers of play in addition to Elite Level College Showcases.

Fredericksburg, Virginia is a centralized location for teams looking for easy travel & access directly off I-95.  Those teams looking for overnight options, Fredericksburg is famous for it's Historical Flair including downtown flair, shopping, restaurants and tourist attractions.

Deadline for the 2019 Event will be Sunday - February 24, 2019.   This will be approaching directly after the Holiday & Winter Season. Remember to check your league opt out rules and deadlines to ensure your weekend is free for another great tournament !

Application MUST be submitted online. Applications sent via US Mail, Email or FAX will NOT be accepted.

The tournament makes every effort to accommodate teams' coaching conflicts (deconflict games) please provide all Coaching Team Conflicts in the application.

A check for the appropriate application fee MUST BE IN THE HANDS OF THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR BY February 24, 2019. Checks (made payable to Fredericksburg FC) can be mailed to 503 Westwood Office Park, Fredericksburg, Va 22401.  FAX or Email copies of check will NOT be accepted.

Tournament Check-In

The tournament uses online check-in. See the Tournament Check In Page for additional details. All teams, (VYSA, US CLUB, or other sanctioned USSF organization/league)

  • 2018 – 2019 Player & Team Official passes that include a picture and are laminated
  • Official Team Roster
  • Medical releases for all players (no exceptions - Must be on Hand at Tournament at all times. Does not need to be uploaded)

Player information must be entered into the roster area of our tournament online registration system by a team official.

ONLINE registration: teams must present proof of affiliation and permission to travel (if applicable). Each team must be registered with a National State Association affiliated with the USYS/USSF or national equivalent and must present a valid State or Provincial roster. CURRENT, DULY AUTHORIZED MEMBER PASSES, MEDICAL RELEASE FORMS AND OFFICIAL STATE APPROVED ROSTERS are required for all players participating in the tournament. Foreign Teams consult the Rules. All Team Officials must have Valid Member Passes.

Game Format

U9-10 play 7v7 and may enter with a maximum of 14 players, U11-12 (16 players) play 9v9.  U13 and older play 11v11 (18 players).

Team awards will be presented to champions and finalists for all levels of competition.

The number of teams accepted, the number of flights, and the placement of teams amongst flights will be at the discretion of the tournament committee.

Hotel Accommodations - 
Contact Housing Service Immediately - do not wait for acceptance.

Teams participating in the Tournament are requested to make all hotel accommodations using our tournament housing service. The tournament housing service is a free service and enables Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania County to ascertain tax revenue and in turn helps with future soccer field/facilities development. The Tournament desires to place teams properly and competitively. To ensure this it is imperative that we have accurate and specific information on all teams wishing to play. Please ensure the Game History portion is completed accurately and in its entirety.

Neither the Tournament Committee, FFC, Hotel Service, nor the Tournament Sponsors are responsible for any expenses incurred by any team in the event the tournament is cancelled in whole or part, or in the event games are discontinued or cancelled due to inclement weather or adverse field conditions, nor will any refunds be made. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to decide all matters pertaining to the tournament. The judgment of the Tournament Committee is final. The Tournament Director has authority to make all decisions and these decisions will be final. All referee decisions are final and binding.

Tournament Polices & Procedures

Forfeits and Team Withdrawal

Teams withdrawing once accepted and scheduled will forfeit their entry fee to the tournament.

Weather Provisions

In the event of inclement weather, the tournament committee will have the authority to relocate, reschedule, and/or change the duration and/or format of any game(s), or cancel any games that have no bearing on group rankings.

Canceled games will not be rescheduled.

In case of inclement weather, please check this site for field and game closures and any cancellations.


Under no circumstances whatsoever will the St. Patrick's Day Invitational be responsible for any expenses (including the tournament entry fee) incurred by any team. This includes any situation where the tournament or any game(s) are canceled in whole or in part.

The tournament committee’s interpretation of these rules shall be final.

The tournament committee reserves the right to decide on all matters pertaining to this tournament.

VYSA (Virginia Youth Soccer Association) rules will be used in the event of any inclement weather or lightning in the area.

Refund Policy

If inclement weather cancels the tournament prior to the start of the first scheduled game, a maximum of 50% of the entry will be refunded to each team.

Severe Weather Procedure

  • Due to sudden severe weather, stoppage of all play occurs when the main tent sounds five (5) consecutive air horn blasts.
  • Play will resume only when the main tent sounds a second set of five (5) air horn blasts.
  • Referees may also stop the game at their discretion (visible lightning).
  • All players must leave the field if either of the above criteria occurs.
  • Play cannot resume until 30 minutes have passed from the last sighting of lightning per VYSA Rules & Regulations.
  • Games missed or stopped due to weather will not be rescheduled due to the large number of games in the tournament, nor will refunds be given if all games aren’t played. Please refer to the Tournament Policies.
  • The Main Schedule of Games will be followed at all times. For example,
    • If a 4:10 – 4:50 game is stopped at 4:20 due to weather and the game is resumed at 4:40, it still ends at the scheduled 4:50 time.
    • If a 4:10 – 4:50 game is stopped at 4:40 and stoppage extends beyond 4:50, the game is over and the team should report to its 5:00 game.
