About CCL Pro 23

CCL PRO23 MEN AND WOMEN 2017 - 18

Purpose and Objectives

The Purpose and Objectives for the CCL Pro23 Men and Women’s Program, is to provide the U15 - U19 Players the opportunity to remain competitive and involved with the Club on a full-time basis throughout the Spring Season, and the Summer Months. The CCL Pro23 Men and Women’s Teams will compete as a Squad for the Spring Season, attending One Additional College Showcase between March and May. Once the Spring Season is complete, the CCL Pro23 Men and Women’s Teams will then compete during the Summer Months as a Squad in the CCL Pro23 League.

The Purpose and Objectives for the CCL PRO23 is to provide former and current CCL players, and current Collegiate Players an opportunity to find professional, meaningful training as well as superior competition during the Summer Months, (during their off-season) all while

preparing them for a successful collegiate season in the fall. Fredericksburg FC will use this League and Platform to provide our U15 - U19 Players the opportunity to gain valuable experience to Play with and against older Players, which will prepare them for College and future higher-level competition.

Standards and Expectations

The CCL Pro23 Men and Women’s Program is a completely, separate and additional Program in the Club. The Program does not affect any current or future selection and decisions for Black, Red or Gold Youth Teams at any Age Group for 2018-2019 Season. The Program is not designed to take anything away from the Player. The Program has been created to offer Players additional opportunities to Train and compete at a higher level.

Players that are selected for the CCL Pro23 Men and Women’s Program, will be allowed to Play High School Soccer. However, to remain in the Program, Players must attend Two of the Three Training Sessions each Week. This is still to be decided, but will most likely be the Monday and Saturday Training Session. We have decided on this route, as most HS Teams do not Play Games on Monday’s and Saturday’s. This allows Players be a part of Club Programming without the worry of not being allowed to participate in HS Soccer.

The CCL Pro23 Men and Women’s Teams will compete in One Additional College Showcases during the Spring Months. However, only 18 Players (including Two GK’s) will be selected for each and any Showcase Roster. No Player is guaranteed to make the Showcase Roster, or if selected, no Player is guaranteed a certain amount of Playing Time at a Showcase. Players are paying to Train in the Program, and then earn the opportunity to compete in the additional College Showcases.

Once the CCL Pro23 Men and Women’s Teams completes the Spring Season, and moves into the Summer Season and the CCL Pro23 League, all Training Sessions are mandatory. Players cannot miss any Events without clearing with the Coach before being selected for the Team at

Tryouts. Again, 18 Players (including Two GK’s) will be selected for each and any CCL Pro23 Roster. No Player is guaranteed to make One or any Roster, or if selected, no Player is guaranteed a certain amount of Playing Time at a Game. Players are paying to Train in the Program, and then earn the opportunity to compete in the Games.

CCL Pro 23 Coaching Staff

FFC has no shortage of talent when it comes to coaching. Grover Gibson, David Shaw, and Jëns Baumer all have years of playing and coaching experience that they are passionate to pass on to their players.

Grover Gibson

Grover signed his first professional contract after high school with VfB Stuttgart U-18. He continued his career in Germany playing professional soccer for 13 years, playing around 250 games and scoring over 20 goals, before retiring due to a serious eye injury. His last club was Rot-Weiss Ahlen in the 2. Bundesliga, where he played 30 matches and scored six goals. He was also a member of the US National Team U17 and U20s.

David Shaw

David played for West Ham United Youth Teams, Reserve Teams, and Scottish Youth National Teams. While representing these Teams, David earned 6 International Caps, including two against Germany's U18's. David was also selected for camp for the Under 19 European Championships. David's Coaching Qualifications include a UEFA B License, which he earned at 22 years old in England with the English FA. He has since gone on to complete his English FA Youth Modules 1 & 2, and his USSF National Youth License.

Fans

We are the only minor league team within 50 miles… everyone loves to come out and support FFC! We average over 300 fans per game. Our minor league teams are on top of a full youth club, which brings out a ton of young, excited fans and their families. We have local Mary Washington players that play for the teams, which also brings out the college crowd!

Burg Brigade

The FFC Supporters Group was established 2015 when RVA merged with FASA to rebrand together as Fredericksburg FC. This initiative was started by current American Outlaws and DC United Supporters to bring fan culture and support to the Fredericksburg area. They bring their drums out to the fields and are constantly chanting and singing during the games. It really creates an awesome atmosphere to play in.

Travel

Both the Men & Women’s teams compete in the largest adult amateur leagues in the country. The Atlantic Conferences mostly consist of travel between Maryland and Virginia, while Regional Competition includes travel to the Northeast. The National Championships have been held in Oklahoma, Tennessee, California, New York & Virginia.

Pre-NPSL & Pre-WPSL Programs compete in the CCL PRO 23 League which boasts the largest and most dominant youth soccer organizations throughout Virginia, DC & Maryland.   The CCL PRO 23 competes in the summer months consisting of a regular season and playoff competition.  This league is sanctioned by the USASA ( United States Adult Soccer Association )
